Project Description:   Schneider Structural(SSE) teamed with C.J. Schneider Engineering(CJS) to design an entirely brand new Flour Milling Facility to be constructed by North South Constructors, LLC.  SSE provided the Architectural, Civil, and Structural designs and CJS provided the Mechanical, Electrical, and Process designs.  This project was unique due to the owners request for the exterior column lines of the processing areas to be on the exterior of the perimeter walls.  Many of the exterior walls of the facility were constructed with Tilt-up concrete wall panels designed and detailed by SSE that were cast on the site and tilted up into place.  Most of the structures in the facility were designed with shallow spread and continuous footings, except for the tall and heavily loaded Flour Storage building which was supported by grade beams, pile caps and 18″ diameter auger cast piles with various lengths for various capacities.  The Flour Storage building was constructed of reinforced concrete and built using the slip forming method. SSE provided detailed drawings and schedules for the slipwall openings and embeds to be cast and installed in the walls and the floors of the Flour Storage building.  All the structural columns, beams and wind girts were designed and constructed with Hollw Recangular tubes and all connections were welded.  Many of the roofs of the processing structures in this facility were construced with hollow core precast panels while some roofs such as for the warehouse, boiler and maintenance areas were constructed with Insulated Metal Panels.
