Project Description:   Schneider Structural Engineering(SSE)  provided the Civil and Structural Engineering for the Cornhusker Energy Facility located in Lexington, NE.  This Ethanol Facility was unique with being one of the first Ethanol Facilities that SSE provided structural design from the ground up with close coordination with C.J.  Schneider Engineering for accomodation of processing requirements.  This facility was constructed with many different types of structures with many different types of construction materials that would be economically suitable for each particular area/process of the facility.  There were numerous structures constructed with Pre-Engineered Building Enclosures that SSE provided foundation design and additional interior structure designs within these structures as well as coordinating special loading requirements for mezzanines and process equipment supported from the pre-engineered building frames.    SSE also provided a design of a unique foundation system for the fermentation tanks and support of catwalks and process piping for tremendous cost savings by reduction in cast-in-place concrete material.
