Structural design of this 6-floor Condominium building of ~ 50,000 sq.ft. area was earlier completed by SSE in 2007 as a Moment Framed steel structure as dictated by the architectural design. In 2009, the owner of the structure opted for precast option owing to savings in project cost. SSE is currently in the process of designing this precast option. 1st level of the structure is proposed for retail use and all floors above for residential use. A part of the 1st floor of the builing will accommodate a Bank with special structural requirements for vaults. The roof of the building accommodates a Penthouse and a sizable swimming-pool. The roof floor framing is made of 16″ thick hollow-core floor panels while the rest of the floors have 12″ thick hollow-core panels. All floors have a 2″ thick composite fiber reinforced topping concrete with welded wire fabric reinforcement. Hollow core members are supported of IT, L beams and shear walls. 8-inch thick precast shear walls form the lateral force resistins system. Apart from structural shear walls, wall panels are made of architectural shear wall panels. For Foundation, Drilled Piers to bedrocks are designed with special connection using 150 ksi yield Dwyidag tension bar to tranfer tensile load from shear walls and columns to Piers. The building is proposed to be completed in 2009.
